Have you tried brushing your teeth in the shower or in the bath?
Even outside in the sun, or sitting at your desk.
When you change your location, you will be amazed at how mindful you will become. Whenever I get a chance, my favorite place to brush my teeth is by the ocean.. rare, but possible.
It is generally recommended to use a dry toothbrush rather than a wet one. Gently stroking your teeth with a dry toothbrush and rinsing thoroughly will remove more bacteria and plaque than using a wet brush with regular toothpaste.

If you want to add something to your brush, try a little baking soda. Saliva is biochemically similar to baking soda, which is also alkaline, which is exactly what the saliva needs. Alternatively, add a drop of a botanical oil to your dry brush (ideally pure and advised by your practitioner), and you will get anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and many other benefits that will penetrate the gums.
It is less than ideal to brush your teeth right after a meal – if you brush too soon after eating, the saliva will not have time to recalibrate to its alkaline pH level. You can rinse with salt and water to neutralize the saliva again, and floss if desired.
Welcome a new year, and new simple intentions.
